The University Campus of Esports is the world’s leading university-level institution dedicated to the business of esports and gaming, and is a very modern institution based in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
With many experienced staff and plenty of students with a very strong work ethic, there are many reasons to study at the University Campus of Esports. Second-year International Esports Business & Digital Media student Ethan Reilly, shares five of his top reasons to study with us.
1. Work Experience:

There are not many university-level institutions that will give you as many opportunities, work experiences and practice gaining industry skills like the University Campus of Esports. For example, we have many students that work at industry events such as ESI, EGX and Insomnia, and even some work experience alongside professional Korean team, Gen.G.
It is not just work experience that is offered, there are many roles throughout the institution which you can get involved in as a student. These include working in our very own broadcast team where there are many roles to be filled, as well as our esports team, London Legion.
There are many more roles within London Legion, including everything from management, to coaching and even experience as a player – it truly is built to cater for whatever you find yourself interested in.
2. Opportunities:

Alongside having a great amount of work experience opportunities available to the students, the University Campus of Esports also has a great number of recreational opportunities. There are trips offered to students which can take them to different countries, and this September, some students will be flying to Portugal to work with ESI.
Previously, students have also been on trips to South Korea, working with Gen.G and visiting the likes of LoL Park to explore Korean esports culture. All the students that have been able to go to South Korea have absolutely loved it and the experience has positively benefitted their studies.
Moreover, smaller events such as London Lock In, a tournament that was run not too long ago at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere, are available for University Campus of Esports students to get stuck into.
Some students also attended the likes of The Media Production and Technology Show at the London Olympia, which allowed them to meet a lot of notable people in the industries that they would like to work in down the line.
3. Community and Interactivity:

Here at the University Campus of Esports, we pride ourselves on our flourishing community, as well as how interactive the institution is with all of the features offered. In terms of community, there are many areas and extracurriculars you can get involved in. Whether you want to play for a team, start a project, even join or create a society, there is something for everyone.
Unlike many universities most students get a lot more one-on-one time with staff, which can not only help settle nerves and make your classes easier, but also ensure that you do as well as possible in your modules.
Alongside this, another great point is the sizes of the classes. Where many universities will have lectures with 100+ students, you may find yourself in some classes with only 20 students, making it easier to know your peers and also involve yourself much more in the lectures.
4. Campus Location:

The location of our campus is incredible, with Stratford being a very easy place to travel into whether you are inside or outside London. In London, you can access Stratford on quite a few underground services that are available in most areas of London and if you are outside of London, there are many trains that take you directly to Stratford International which is only about a 10-minute walk from the campus.
On top of this, there aren’t many better cities to be in for student life as you are not only in the best city in England but there is so much to do in and around Stratford before the rest of London is even accounted for.
Whether you want to go for some retail therapy or involve yourself in activities, Westfield Shopping Centre is on our doorstep, and it has everything you could want and more. There are also many athletic facilities available to students since we are placed in the Lee Valley VeloPark, and have a lot of access to the Olympic Park facilities.
5. Student Interests:

Finally, one of the biggest reasons the University Campus of Esports could be for you is if your interests lay within esports and games. Of course, this isn’t all we do as, we have a lot of courses which focus more on coaching, digital marketing, events management and digital media. However, all our courses are taught through the lens of either games or esports, so if you are deeply interested in these, there aren’t many better places to be.
Also, if you are interested in how esports teams and organisations are run this will be the place for you. Staff at the University Campus of Esports work with you in all aspects of your studies, and develop your knowledge in whatever area you are most interested in.
These are five of the many reasons why you should study at the University Campus of Esports, and there are limited spaces remaining through Clearing to join us this September.
