The Tri-Curriculum

Our unique approach

The university-norm is to have one curriculum. At the University Campus of Esports, you will have three curricula – forming our unique TRI-Curriculum approach.

Your degree certificate is an “entry-ticket into the job market” which allows you to apply for a particular role, however, as a much larger proportion of the population now has a degree, it is the degree plus additionality that will provide competitiveness in the job market.

Thus, our TRI-Curriculum is utilised to make you competitive, not just now, but in the future and provide long-term value of your time and effort, as your qualifications and other competitive attributes will empower you to become world-ready.

We do this by a providing you with a wider, broader, and more holistic educational experience so you can contribute to society not only financially, but culturally and creatively whilst building mental and emotional resilience. We will encourage tolerance and appreciation of all cultures, with a moral and ethical compass.

Our unique approach will specifically champion and focus on developing students’ talent, building our students’ resilience, and developing your unique identity/brand.

INTRODUCING THE TRI-CURRICULUM MODEL:

The Academic Curriculum:

Delivered within the recognised regulatory frameworks. The credit-bearing modules will ultimately decide the final degree classification each student attains.

The Coaching Curriculum:

Every academic year, business leaders, coaches, athletes, players, and management will deliver cross-functional teaching and experience sessions to students. These sessions transfer elite sporting challenges into the world of esports and esports business, and provide greater insight into the industry.

World Ready Curriculum:

Facilitated by the University Campus of Esports team, this aspect consists of a wide range of different personal development opportunities and experiences to make you world-ready.

ASPECTS OF THE TRI-CURRICULUM:

Some of the components (but not limited to) of the TRI-Curriculum include:

As an institution we will work on your graduation exit plan from the moment you walk through the front door of the University Campus of Esports.

Students will have the opportunity to put themselves forward to be mentored by esports and sports business executives, as well as individuals from a wide range of other industry sectors.

Students will have the opportunity to put themselves forward for work experience in our partner Olympic Park Venues, plus UK and global esports organisations; leveling up their C.V and making them world-ready.

It has perhaps never been more important to manage your personal brand and digital footprint, especially in the world of esports. We will work with you alongside PR and brand professionals for you to understand your own personal brand, what it is, strengths, capabilities, cultural approach, and translating this into your content.

Regular guest speakers in our Industry Seminar Series from the world of esports, sport and business will provide insight and inspiration and provide the opportunity for you to build up a network.

Students will have the opportunity to interview leading industry experts, giving a unique insight and experience into various sectors and roles.

A challenge for all is to keep up, understand and assimilate the ever-changing world, both at a macro and micro level, global politics and business as well as industry specific topics of discussion. We work with you to fuel these discussions and further your understanding.

Our regular sessions will drive your understanding of how you can put your best foot forward. At the University Campus of Esports, we take this seriously and provide development programmes for students (and staff) to maintain a high level of resilience, now, and through life.

Engaging in the corporate world, board meetings and overall etiquette, standards, sartorial presentation and behaviours are key to a successful career. At our university-level institution you will be educated in this key area.

In the world of esports and gaming, a lot of business is conducted in semi-formal environments; so soft skills in this area are essential for students to have professional etiquette.

Peter is a familiar face and voice on Sky Sports and brings his extensive experience to all students over a year with a weekly structured certificated programme.

This programme provides an in-depth training and education in managing your brand and media profile.
Your digital-footprint is with you for life, and it is essential that you manage risk, manage messaging and your brand at all times. Central to this is understanding how to interact with a wide variety of media types and platforms, such is the ever-changing world of esports.

Student Business start-up programme:

Due to the exciting and fast-growing nature of the global esports sector, many students will have ideas and a vision for their own business.

As our student you will have the opportunity to create and present your own Esports business ideas to the University Campus of Esports team on an annual basis.

Successful business ideas have the opportunity to compete for financial support, as well as expertise, advice and guidance to support you on your way.

These students will also pick up core business skills along the way as they create embryonic businesses whilst we help them grasp the power of strategic planning and its execution.
