[LONDON, July 2024] University Campus of Esports, the world’s leading university-level institution dedicated to the business of esports and gaming, is pleased to announce the upcoming ‘Fearless Vanguard’ tournament, taking place on Saturday 3rd August in collaboration with esports networking community connecting Korea and the world, ESSR.
Sponsored by AfreecaTV’s tournament platform, GGGL, biomass-based eco-friendly products manufacturing company, Reseio, and KeSPA’s ‘Esports Hall of Fame’, the event will feature up-and-coming Korean VALORANT talent in a unique Ban-Pick format to limit agent selection – creating diverse competitive play.
The tournament is set to be streamed simultaneously on a Korean stream live from the Hall of Fame, and an English stream live from the University Campus of Esports’ iconic London campus.
Not only are players getting the opportunity to compete in a first-of-its-kind international competition, students from the University Campus of Esports are leading all aspects of the production for the English version of the live broadcast.
With the support of ESSR, University Campus of Esports students have developed unique branding and assets for the project, as well as building a bespoke virtual set to be used on the live stream; of which will be produced from the institutions’ state-of-the-art broadcast facilities.
Professor Philip Wilson, Executive Chair and Founder of the University Campus of Esports, said: “This incredible opportunity allows our students to broaden their knowledge on a global scale, whilst also supporting their studies in International Esports Business. We are very proud of all of our students for their dedication to this project, and we look forward to seeing the final result.”
This event also focuses on fostering networking and professional development for students in Korea and the United Kingdom, as well as providing a new competitive format for collegiate esports.
Kim Soohyeong, the project manager of ESSR’s Fearless Vanguard, said, “This is a project where students with diverse experiences and backgrounds have come together with a passion for esports. We hope many participants and esports fans enjoy our tournament.”
By providing students with opportunities such as this, they are gaining invaluable skills to aid their journey of personal and professional development, on top of supporting their studies to understand the global esports sector.
University Campus of Esports student, Ethan Collins, said: “As a passionate VALORANT player and fan, having the opportunity to cast the Fearless Vanguard tournament has been an experience I couldn’t pass up. Being a big follower of VCT Pacific, I am thrilled to watch and commentate on rising talent from Korean Radiant lobbies as well as Premiere. This experience has really deepened my passion for casting VALORANT events, allowing us to highlight these deserving and talented players.“
The event is set to take place from 9am BST on Saturday 3rd August, and can be watched live on the University Campus of Esports Twitch, and Soop Live channels.
