[LONDON, June 2024] University Campus of Esports, the world’s leading university-level institution dedicated to the business of esports and gaming, has officially signed its first wave of partner institutions in the School and College Partnership Programme.

Barnet and Southgate College, Logic Studio School, Colchester Institute, Wilmington Academy, East Norfolk College and East Sussex College have become the first further education institutions to join the programme, and begin providing more opportunities for their esports and gaming students.

The programme is aimed at schools and colleges that currently deliver (or will deliver) Level 2 & 3 qualifications in esports or gaming; as well as schools and colleges with a passion for the subjects.

Those in the School and College Partnership Programme will be able to get involved in exclusive presentations and activities hosted by the University Campus of Esports – including fun masterclasses with our specialist academic team and visits to our campus.

These activities will work to ensure that students progress from one accredited course to another in a seamless manner.

Furthermore, students will be able to utilise our extensive range of facilities and gaming equipment – from our BBC-Level broadcast studio, to our gaming hub filled with specialist gaming PC’s and top-of-the-line sim racing setups as provided by Williams Racing.

Martyn Hall, from Colchester Institute, said: “The Digital Media Department at Colchester Institute is thrilled to become a partner with the University Campus of Esports. We look forward to the opportunities for collaboration in this exciting and progressive industry that will help our learners to become the designers, marketeers, coaches, and players of tomorrow.”

Ian Golledge, Head of Curriculum for Esports at East Sussex College, said: “We are looking forward to this partnership, it will give ESC Esports and Games Development students access to a wide range of exclusive activities, working with HE level students and staff. This partnership will help promote the world of esports and allow a greater understanding of what is involved in this expanding industry to prospective students, parents and the wider college community.”

James Marriot, Director of Learning for ICT and Esports, “It is an absolute honour to have been approached and selected by the University Campus of Esports to become a partnered organisation. Wilmington Academy Esports continues to look for opportunities to grow and provide our learners with clear pathways into the world of esports beyond post-16 study of Level 3 accreditation.

“The University Campus of Esports is an outstanding University pathway option, and it has been fantastic to visit on numerous occasions. This partnership will allow us to offer tangible educational opportunities directly into the heart of this ever-expanding and exciting subject. We look forward to a successful and nurturing partnership which will thrive for years to come.”

Moreover, this exciting partnership also gives students the chance to learn more about the collegiate level of esports through our very own esports organisation – London Legion. Here, students can participate in friendly tournaments against London Legion’s competitive rosters to improve their skills in all areas.

Professor Philip Wilson, Executive Chair & Founder of the University Campus of Esports, stated: “We are proud to partner with colleges, and these partnerships create a visible and structured pathway for students to progress from school-level education to university. Our partners are at the cutting edge of aspirational, modern-day education to create employable, mature, and balanced young people whom through this education pathway will be empowered in life.”
