On the 19th – 22nd October 2023, Head of Foundation at University Campus of Esports, Nathan David, competed in the Dodgeball European Championships for the England Lions – and brought home two medals from the competition.

Competing live in Croatia, Nathan played for both the Men’s and Mixed squads, and went head-to-head with the best dodgeball talent in Europe.

Throughout the event, the England teams battled through the Group Stages, and managed to get through to the later stages of competition – with all three teams coming home with a medal.

The Men’s squad picked up a bronze medal after beating France 21-9 in the third-place match, whilst the Mixed team secured a silver medal – just losing out 14-16 to Austria in the Finals.

Professor Philip Wilson, Chair of the Board at University Campus of Esports, commented: “We are ebullient at the success of Nathan and the team. His attributes demonstrated on the court of play exemplifies his approach to teaching, and our students watched together on campus with pride!”

The next European Championships are set to take place in Ireland in 2025, and we hope to see Nathan back on the court representing England.
