Over the last two weeks, University Campus of Esports have kickstarted the ‘Industry Seminar Series’ within the institution to welcome guests from various areas of esports onto the Lee Valley VeloPark campus.

Each session sees a new expert from the industry speaking to students to provide them with invaluable insights as to what it is like to work professionally in the esports sector.

So far, guests include the likes of Wouter Sleijffers, Director of MC3.GG and former CEO of Excel Esports and FNATIC, and Bubba Gaeddert, Esports Consultant, Broadcaster, Host, and Content Creator.

The series was created to support the development of the TRI-Curriculum, the institutions’ unique curricula to broaden the educational experience, and give students the opportunity to expand their network with established figures in the industry.

Aiste Kinderyte, International Esports Business and Digital Media student, said: “I have personally found the industry talks very useful for my future career plans, and future opportunities. The most recent guest, Bubba, has opened up possible opportunities to both network and gain experience within the esports industry in America.”

“It’s been really interesting to hear from, and learn about, people in the industry that I’m hoping to work in. It is really nice to have talks from people that are in esports, and also see how what they talk about applies to what I’m being taught each week,” said Freddie Whalley, International Esports Business and Digital Media student.

On top of this, we have also welcomed Chester King, CEO of British Esports, and Kalam Neale, Head of Education at British Esports, to speak to our students about our partnership, and their developments in Sunderland with the National Esports Performance Campus.

Throughout the coming months, University Campus of Esports are set to welcome even more industry experts in to share their expertise with students, and continue to provide the highest standards of education to each individual.
