[LONDON, 2024] University Campus of Esports, the world’s leading university-level institution dedicated to the business of esports and gaming, is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the upcoming ‘Path to Pro’ Grand Finals LAN event, created in partnership with Tranmere Rovers Football Club.

The LAN event is set to take place on Saturday 22nd June at the Tranmere Rovers Recreation Centre, with eight EAFC24 players going head-to-head for their chance to win a professional player contract under the club’s esports division.

Players will be competing in various EAFC24 challenges throughout the day to showcase some of the best talent in the sector and determine the overall winner of the tournament.

The event will be live streamed on Twitch, with the production being run by students from the University Campus of Esports, giving them first-hand work experience opportunities at a pinnacle event for EAFC24 esports.

This tournament will culminate three weeks of online qualifiers, of which were organised and broadcast live by students from the University Campus of Esports.

Professor Philip Wilson, Executive Chair & Founder of the University Campus of Esports, said: “We are incredibly excited about this amazing opportunity with Nicola Palios, Vice Chairman of the Tranmere Rovers, and the wider team at Tranmere Rovers Football Club, to collaborate on a pivotal project of this scale. Our students are getting the opportunity to gain first-hand work experience in the likes of broadcasting and tournament management – of which will be invaluable experience for them as they continue their journey of personal and professional development with us. This event is set to be a great success, and I am overjoyed with the work our students have been able to complete behind the scenes thus far.”

Moreover, Tranmere Rovers Football Club’s newest player, Sam Finley, and Liverpool Football Club’s first-team star, Jayden Danns, will be making a special guest appearance at the event to spectate the gameplay – as well as take part in some of the elimination challenges with the finalists.

Nicola Palios, Vice Chairman of Tranmere Rovers and a director of Merseyside Esports Limited, the Club’s Esports joint venture company, said: “This should be a tremendous event at the end of which the lucky winner will walk away with a professional contract. Thanks to the support of our university-level partner University Campus of Esports, Samsung and IDNS, it should also be a spectacular event for those coming along to watch on the day. It’s a great chance to showcase how exciting esports can be, and see the cross pollination of traditional sports and the ever-expanding global esports environment. ”
