With an 87.3% employment rate for new graduates in 2022, it is more important than ever to investigate ways that you can make sure you stand out from the crowd.
At the University Campus of Esports, we understand the need for portfolio building and being career-ready in a competitive industry – and therefore utilise our TRI-Curriculum to ensure that students have the best chance of success from the moment they join us.
But, what does this curriculum consist of?
In this guide, we go over the basics of the TRI-Curriculum, and how it is vital to ensuring the success of our students.
What is the TRI-Curriculum?

Degree certificates are an entry-ticket into the job market, but as a much larger proportion of the population are obtaining them, you need to bring more to the table to stand out in the competitive market.
The TRI-Curriculum is a specially designed academic process to give students the best level of education possible, whilst preparing them for a successful career after graduation.
This unique approach brings three different curricula together to provide students with a wider and broader educational experience – moving towards making everyone world-ready through their degree.
Throughout the entire course, we utilise these curricula to champion focus on developing talent, building resilience, and developing professional identities and brands. It is a three-year journey of personal and professional development.
What does it consist of?
The TRI-Curriculum is built up of three main areas, of which several key elements fall into.
These are:
The Academic Curriculum:
Delivered within the recognised regulatory frameworks. The credit bearing modules will ultimately decide the final degree classification each student attains.
The Coaching Curriculum:
Every academic year business leaders, coaches, athletes, players and management will deliver cross-functional teaching and experience sessions. These sessions transfer elite sporting challenges into the world of esports and esports business.
The World Ready Curriculum:
Facilitated by the University Campus of Esports team, a wide range of different personal development opportunities and experiences to make students World-Ready.
Within these areas, there are multiple components that help build up the curriculum – including the likes of: work placements, preparation for after graduation, learning the ins-and-outs of the corporate world, and emotional resilience.
Why is it so important?
Jobs in the esports and gaming industries are incredibly competitive, and employers are looking for experienced candidates to fill these roles.
By exposing students to real-world scenarios, industry standards, and professional workplaces, they are evolving through their degree to stand-out amongst others who would be going for the same role.
One of the main pathways in the TRI-Curriculum is involvement working for London Legion – the university’s own esports organisation.
Where other universities offer involvement in an esports society or team, the University Campus of Esports runs London Legion as its own business, allowing students to gain real-world experience within an active organisation.
Moreover, London Legion is run as a professional entity, meaning that every person involved has applied to a specific role and been selected through a traditional employment structure.
The most unique part of this element of the curricula is that students can get stuck into the work with a ‘safety net’ behind them to keep them going, regardless of any mistakes. This provides them with the confidence to ask questions and develop their skills in the comfort of a team.
This then allows students to use their time with London Legion as relevant work experience to reference when applying for roles within the wider industry.
Overall, the TRI-Curriculum provides a wide variety of unique experiences for students that will let them stand out when breaking into the industry. Providing this range in curricula creates more well-rounded and reliable individuals with a host of experience to carry them through a positive career.
