London, UK, 12th May, 2023 – University Campus of Esports, the world’s leading university-level institution dedicated to esports, are delighted to announce that two of our students will be attending the KeSPA Global Esports Camp, in South Korea. Commencing on the 22nd May, the students will represent the institution and Great Britain in the Tekken 7 tournament.
The Global Esports Camp will expand the student’s vision for the global esports industry and understand the industry culture internationally. The itinerary for the camp delivers educational and recreational opportunities to diversify their knowledge in global esports. Whilst in South Korea, the students will attend venues such as LoL Park, Korean Hall of Fame and Gen.G HQ, where they get the chance to meet the LCK League of Legends pro players.

On 9th May 2023, we held the in-house Last Chance Qualifiers amongst the students with bracket stages to determine who would be representatives in South Korea. The finals resulted in an undefeated grand champion of the upper bracket, Chloe Gentleman, and the underdog, Kevin Buja, who claimed his spot after defeating the lower bracket, claiming second place.
Chloe and Kevin are both BA (hons) International Esports Business & Event Management students, in their first year, who have both shown great sportsmanship and skill whilst competing in Tekken 7.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to go to South Korea to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone, whilst also representing the university and Great Britain. This is a big opportunity, as a woman in esports, to be able to showcase the inclusivity and talent within the industry. I am the youngest student of my student cohort so to be given a chance of this magnitude is only the stepping stone to further my knowledge and career. ”

It is considerably meaningful that I have been chosen; being an aspiring content creator from a low income household I have always dreamed of travelling and sampling other cultures and sharing my journey with others! This may be a holiday for some, but a large step in my career for me.”
